The Embrace of Druscié for Matilde

A Charity Auction for Athlete Safety

On March 29, 2025, at the prestigious Cortina Golf Club, a charity event with a profound emotional and social impact will take place: the Charity Auction in support of the Matilde Lorenzi Foundation. This event aims to honor the memory of Matilde Lorenzi, a young alpine skiing talent, by transforming her legacy into a concrete action to enhance safety on the slopes. Promoted by Sci Club Druscié in collaboration with Art Finance Fund, the charity auction will feature the sale of ten exclusive artworks, generously donated by Alessandro and Giuseppe of Art Finance Fund. The entire proceeds will be allocated to the Matilde Lorenzi Foundation to support innovative projects that improve athlete safety on ski slopes.

According to Flavio Alberti, President of Sci Club Druscié, "participating in this auction is not just an act of solidarity in memory of Matilde, but also a concrete demonstration of responsibility toward the future of the sport." The goal is to ensure safer conditions for today’s and tomorrow’s skiers, allowing them to pursue their dreams with greater protection. The Matilde Lorenzi Foundation was created with the mission of enhancing safety in skiing through three fundamental pillars: education, prevention, and support. Educating means providing young athletes and their coaches with the necessary skills to recognize and manage risks on the slopes. Preventing involves promoting the adoption of safer equipment, raising awareness of the importance of safety, and investing in new technologies. Supporting means offering concrete and continuous assistance to anyone who shares the commitment to athlete safety. The initiative aims to create a safer environment for the young talents of Italian alpine skiing, ensuring ideal conditions for them to grow and compete without avoidable risks.

The charity auction will feature works by renowned artist Albino Pitti. Known for his gestural and expressive painting, Pitti conveys energy, strength, and resilience through his dynamic brushstrokes—values that perfectly align with the spirit of sports and the memory of Matilde. On this occasion, art takes on a deeper meaning: it becomes a vehicle for raising awareness and providing tangible support for ski safety. The auction proceeds will help fund the adoption of advanced protective gear, the development of safer sports equipment, and the design of infrastructure aimed at minimizing the risk of serious accidents.

This event is not only an opportunity for art lovers to enrich their collections with valuable works but also a chance to contribute to an initiative of immense human value.

"A painful but formative and educational crack, crossed by a light: that smile of Matilde that will guide us toward a safer future for all athletes who continue to pursue the same dreams."
